Evie Wyld is a Goldsmiths alumna and a celebrated author whose literary achievements have garnered international acclaim.
A graduate of Goldsmiths' MA in Creative Writing, Wyld is the author of five critically acclaimed novels, including After the Fire, A Still Small Voice, All the Birds, Singing, and The Bass Rock. Her works have earned prestigious accolades such as the Miles Franklin Award, the Stella Prize, and the Encore Award. In 2013, Wyld was named one of Granta’s Best of Young British Novelists, and she is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
Wyld’s novels explore themes of human connection, trauma, and resilience, often weaving richly atmospheric settings into her storytelling. The Bass Rock, her most recent novel, has been particularly lauded for its nuanced examination of intergenerational impacts of masculinity and violence. Beyond her writing, Wyld is an integral part of her local literary community as a team member at Review, an independent bookshop in Peckham.
Evie Wyld’s deep connection to Goldsmiths is reflected in her ongoing support of the university and her acknowledgment of the formative role her studies played in shaping her career. The Honorary Fellowship bestowed upon Evie, celebrates her literary achievements as well as her contributions to the arts.
