Journalist and author Gillia Tett is US Managing Editor of The Financial Times (FT). Her previous roles at the FT have included assistant editor, capital markets editor, Tokyo bureau chief, and a reporter in Russia and Brussels. In 2014, she was named Columnist of the Year in the British Press Awards and was the first recipient of the Royal Anthropological Institute Marsh Award. She is the author of Fool’s Gold (2009), an analysis of the 2007-8 financial crisis, and The Silo Effect (2015), which examines the global economy and financial system through the lens of cultural anthropology.
