Kalki Koechlin is an internationally renowned actor, writer, and advocate for social justice who has captivated audiences with her versatile artistry.
A Goldsmiths alumna, Koechlin graduated with a BA in Drama and Theatre Arts in 2005 before embarking on a groundbreaking career in theatre and film. Her debut in Dev.D earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress, and she has since starred in critically acclaimed works such as Margarita with a Straw and Gully Boy.
Koechlin’s creative pursuits extend to the stage, where her writing and performances have earned accolades, including the MetroPlus Playwright Award for The Hindu. She founded Little Productions to create thought-provoking works like Living Room, exploring themes of aging and mortality. Beyond her artistic achievements, Koechlin is a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ and women’s rights, using her platform to challenge societal norms and promote equity.
In 2018, Koechlin was honoured with the Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government for her contributions to arts and culture.
