Occupation MA Arts Administration and Cultural Policy. Venue Manager
Country Greece

Alkistis studied Archaeology and History of Arts in Greece, and has been actively involved in the Athenian contemporary scene for the last four years. The MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy was the right choice, since it was the ideal combination of theory and practical knowledge. The MA offered a wide and innovative perspective in management and an in depth knowledge of European culture policy tendencies. Additionally, meeting all the accomplished classmates was eye opening and an unforgettable experience.

The combination of her archaeological background and the experience on arts administration, policy and contemporary culture have equipped her with a broader view and the ability to effectively link these elements.

Her internship at the Athens Biennale aided her on gaining insight on management of human resources, organisation of volunteers and curatorial research. The internship turned into a job offer for the position of Venue Manager of the exhibition spaces of the 4th Athens Biennale (Agora). The position put many of the theoretical skills gained from the MA to the test with successful results; overall it was a unique experience that gave her a more in depth knowledge on the contemporary art scene and events management.
