Memorable campus and helpful staff
The highlight of my Master’s studies at Goldsmiths was undoubtedly the beautiful campus, the kindness of the staff, and the excellent library system.
My academic experience was enriched by the opportunity to learn from a wide range of practitioners across the UK, whose real-world expertise, combined with theoretical study, allowed me not only to deepen my knowledge but also to broaden my perspective.
I feel truly fortunate to have studied MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy at Goldsmiths.
In-depth learning and work experience
The programme enabled me to develop a more critical and philosophical understanding of the history of culture and the arts, and to analyse them through a reflective, critical lens.
It was also an invaluable opportunity to learn how cultural policies evolve—how different cultures in the UK, Europe, and beyond interact with society and shape policy-making processes.
Additionally, completing an internship as part of my studies gave me first-hand experience within the cultural and artistic field, which remains one of the most meaningful parts of my time at Goldsmiths.
A diverse city
As an international student, I truly appreciated the wide range of support available in London.
From NHS services to transport discounts and concessions for cultural institutions, there are so many benefits.
During my studies, I loved that I could experience London’s rich cultural life not just as a visitor, but as a Londoner — discovering the city’s diversity alongside my academic work.
What remains most memorable is the abundance of creative and innovative performances and exhibitions that can be enjoyed at any time.
A supportive environment for international students
At Goldsmiths, I was especially grateful for the kindness and consideration shown by the academics towards international students.
They were consistently attentive and supportive, always making an effort to ease language barriers, and I remain deeply thankful for their care.
The benefits of studying in South East London
The excellent transport links made New Cross wonderfully accessible from all parts of London.
During my Master’s course, I lived near Surrey Quays, which offered great local amenities and an easy commute to campus. I loved having parks close by — it was refreshing to take a walk in nature whenever I needed a break from studying.
Near the university, the bus routes to London Bridge and Tower Bridge were particularly convenient, and those areas became my favourite places to visit whenever I needed to recharge.
Advice for future students
Goldsmiths is a place where anyone with imagination and ambition can find the opportunity to turn their dreams into reality.
It is a university where wisdom forms the foundation for knowledge, and where experience helps you grow further in your chosen field.
If you are someone who hopes for personal and professional growth, I would wholeheartedly say that investing your time in university life — and especially at Goldsmiths — is truly worthwhile.
Life after Goldsmiths
I recently completed my doctoral coursework in Arts and Cultural Education in Korea and am currently preparing my dissertation.
Alongside my academic work, I am active as a teaching artist across various lifelong cultural and arts education settings, engaging not only in teaching but also in scholarly research.
I also serve as an external researcher for several regional cultural foundations, contributing to research projects related to cultural policy.
I look forward to continuing my career as both a teaching artist and a professional researcher in the field of arts and culture.
