Occupation Associate Director of the Northumbria Centre for Sleep Research

"During my time at Goldsmiths I studied for an MRes in Research Methods in Psychology and an MPhil & PhD in Psychology focussing on identifying the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to sleep quality. I received incredible support from my supervisor, as well as other members of the Psychology Department, who helped to make my experience motivating, challenging, and enjoyable. In my current role as Associate Director of the Northumbria Centre for Sleep Research, I investigate the physiology of normal sleep processes as well as sleep disorders, and the biological and environmental factors underlying these processes. My experience at Goldsmiths played a very large part in shaping my current career, in terms of solidifying my research skills and theoretical knowledge, but also in terms of demonstrating methods for effective teaching."
