Kate Carter completed her undergraduate study at the University of St Andrews, where she studied Modern History and devoted considerable time and energy to the performing arts. Having acted in, directed and produced plays in St Andrews and at the Edinburgh Fringe, she became interested in the management side of the cultural industries, and in her final year co-created a new Scottish student arts festival.

The experience was exciting and challenging and she wanted to learn more, so she turned to the MA in Arts Administration & Cultural Policy at Goldsmiths. This proved an excellent learning experience, with expert tuition and advice, plenty of opportunities for professional networking and courses that were both practical and academically stimulating.

During the course Kate was lucky enough to secure an internship at The Corner Shop Public Relations & Marketing, which taught her a great deal about communications in the cultural sector and gave her lots of hands-on experience. This has led to roles including Marketing Coordinator for Disney's The Lion King, Marketing Assistant and Administrator for The Corner Shop PR and, most recently, Communications Officer for Audiences London.
