Known as the “Cradle of Dancers,” BDA has built a global reputation for excellence in dance, choreography, and performance studies. The academy offers a wide range of programmes spanning traditional Chinese dance, ballet, contemporary dance, musical theatre, and arts management.
With a commitment to artistic innovation and international collaboration, BDA integrates classical training with modern creative practices. Its faculty includes many of China’s most distinguished dance professionals and scholars, and its alumni have gone on to become influential figures in the performing arts industry both in China and around the world.
Overview of Partnership
Goldsmiths, University of London, and Beijing Dance Academy have established a dual degree partnership that offers postgraduate students a unique international learning experience in the field of Musical Theatre.
Under this 1+1+1 model, students will begin their studies on the MFA Musical Theatre at Beijing Dance Academy, progress to Goldsmiths for the second year to undertake the MA Musical Theatre and then return to BDA for the final stage of the programme.
Through this collaboration, students benefit from the combined strengths of both institutions: BDA’s renowned expertise in performance and choreography, and Goldsmiths’ distinctive approach to interdisciplinary practice, and critical engagement with the arts.
