Shanghai Theatre Academy 

Goldsmiths has partnered with Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) to launch a postgraduate dual degree in MA Musical Theatre with the Goldsmiths School of Music, English and Theatre.  

STA was founded in 1945 and is one of China's most prestigious institutions for performing arts education. STA has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of Chinese theatre, film, television, dance, and opera, with many of their graduates becoming leading experts and professionals in performing arts. 

Students on the STA MA Musical Theatre degree will be able to apply to Goldsmiths for their second year to undertake the MA Musical Theatre before returning to STA to complete their studies.  Upon successful completion of both programmes, students will be awarded degrees from both STA and Goldsmiths.  

The collaboration with STA enriches the academic experience of students, and solidifies the existing bonds between Goldsmiths and STA.
