Support for mature students
Tailored support to help you feel welcomed, connected, and prepared for your journey as a mature student at Goldsmiths.
Primary page content
A mature student includes anyone who is over the age of 21 when they begin their undergraduate degree.
We’ve been listening to the experiences of our mature students, as well as the insights of our staff, to understand what really matters to students returning to study. This page details some of the support available to you as you start your time at Goldsmiths.
Financial support
Student discounts
As a mature student, you are eligible for all student discounts. In most cases, you will just need your email as confirmation of your student status.
Further information on the discounts available to all students can be found on the Student discounts page on our website.
You may also be eligible for a rail card which can be stamped by either the Student Hub or Graduate School depending on your course. Visit the Railcard website for more details.
On-site childcare
Goldsmiths Students' Union manages a nursery for children aged six-months to five years-old. Nursery spaces operate on a first come first serve basis. We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible if you are interested in securing a place for your child.
Mature students' network
The Mature Student Network is a community of mature students interested in sharing information with other students and interacting with services and individuals that can enhance their university experience and support them to thrive.
Network events take place throughout Welcome Week and the rest of the academic year. This year, they'll include our Mature students' webinar and a trip to the Horniman Museum.
