Pre-Masters pathways

These one year programmes give you an opportunity to develop your English language, become familiar with UK academic culture and explore some of our academic departments before starting a postgraduate degree.

Our Pre-Masters Pathways will fully prepare you for your future postgraduate study in the UK. You have an opportunity to specialise in a range of subjects. You will also improve your study skills and use of academic English - the essential skills you will need to study successfully at Masters level.

You should consider a Pre-Masters Pathway if:

  • your undergraduate qualifications do not meet the level required for postgraduate study
  • you wish to take a Masters in a subject that is different from your undergraduate degree
  • you need to improve your study skills and use of academic English

If you pass the pathway at the required level (a pass in all modules with an overall score of 50% or more), you will be awarded a Graduate Diploma or Pre-Masters Certificate and guaranteed a place on a relevant Goldsmiths degree programme.
