Be Bold with Gold
Free interactive workshops for year 12s
Primary page content
Be Bold with Gold is a workshop for year 12s which aims to demystify all things about higher education, enabling them to get university ready.
The 90-minute session can be held at your school or college and will be presented by a Goldsmiths staff member along with current students, giving your pupils a fantastic opportunity to ask any university-related questions in real life. Be Bold with Gold can also be held on campus at Goldsmiths. This can also include a campus tour if required.
Your students will learn about topics including university accommodation, transport and how student finance, scholarships, bursaries and grants work. They'll also get to know about day-to-day life as a student - how many hours of study, seminars and lectures they will undertake, how courses and modules work and of course, the all-important university social life - societies and other fun to be had on and off campus.
So far, over a thousand year 12 students have taken part in our Be Bold with Gold workshop and pupils who attended this session have said it greatly increased their knowledge of university:
When quizzed about their knowledge of HE before the session, the average score was 2/5. On completion of the workshop, it rocketed to 4/5.
Here is some feedback we've received:
Thank you for an incredibly interactive, motivating and educational Be Bold with Gold workshop for our sixth form students. I have never seen a university workshop run in such a participatory manner and it will be really memorable for the students as a result. The student ambassadors are a credit to your university and really engaging and knowledgeable in their tour.
