How to print on campus

All you need to know about printing on campus

Printers are available on campus in the Library and in the Graduate Centre.

There are two ways of printing on campus:

  • From our Open Access machines in the Library (this is the recommended option as the print is customisable)
  • From your laptop or device using Mobile Printing (this provides less customisation and it's only advisable for simple print jobs).

Print from your own device (Mobile Printing)

You can print from your own device to a Pcounter printer by visiting:

Mobile Printing (you need to be connected to Eduroam)

This is different than printing from our Open Access machines because instead of printing directly, you will need to upload your document to the print server and then collect it from the printers. In practice, this means you can only slightly customise printing settings and you need to have the document saved on your device (i.e. you cannot print from the web).

To use our Mobile Printing Service:

      1. Log into Mobile Printing using your campus username and password
      2. Under Upload Document to Print click on Choose File and select from your device the document you want to print, then press Next
      3. Wait a few seconds until you see that your document is uploaded. Next to the document you should now see written in green Awaiting Release
      4. By default it prints double-sided and in black and white, if you want to change these settings tick the box next to Advanced and a small menu will expand
      5. Once you are happy with your selection, click on the button Library Printing (Select advanced for Colour)
      6. Your print should can now be collected from one of the printers in the library by swiping your student card on the card reader and releasing the job.

Please make sure that you collect your print from the right printer (Mono printers for black and white and Colour printers for colour prints).

Print from an Open Access Mac

To print from our Open Access Macs:

  1. Log into one of the Macs using your campus username and password
  2. Open the file you want to print
  3. Select File > Print
  4. The printer selected should always be PCount Printers (it is usually already selected)
  5. Once the document has been sent to print, please go to one of the printers, swipe your card on the card reader and click on the icon that looks like a printer. You can now select the print job(s) you wish to print and click on the printer icon to release them.

Please note:

  • If you want to print and be charged for black and white prints, please make sure you collect your prints from a Mono printer. In the same way, if you want to print in colour, please make sure you collect your prints from a Colour printer.
  • The default settings are to print double-sided. If you want to print single-sided you will need to change the settings before sending the document to print.

Print from an Open Access PC

To print from one of our Open Access PCs:

  1. Log into one of the PCs using your campus username and password
  2. Open the file you want to print
  3. Select File > Print (this navigation can slightly change depending on the software you are using)
  4. If you need to print in black and white, the printer selected should be //CGS-VSVR-PS05/MonoPullQueue, if you want to print in colour the printer selected should be //CGS-VSVR-PS05/ColourPullQueue
  5. Once the document has been sent to print, please go to one of the printers, swipe your card on the card reader and click on the icon that looks like a printer. You can now select the print job(s) you wish to print and click on the printer icon to release them.

Please note that the default settings are to print double-sided. If you want to print single-sided you will need to change the settings before sending the document to print.
