Filmmaking at Goldsmiths is expanding.
We are the next-generation film school that gives critical context and empowers our students to be at the cutting-edge of new work and new developments in this fast changing sector.
Our MA Filmmaking programmes take on board what the industry tells us: that while they seek well-rounded and multi-talented new recruits to the business, they also value and respect specialised learning. MA Filmmaking will supply this via highly qualified, industry-active and award-winning staff and guest lecturers.
The programmes include exciting option modules during which students can explore script and project development, visual storytelling, writing for TV drama, understanding the UK media industries, practical law for film and television, and social activist filmmaking.
The MA Filmmaking programmes provide a unique set of opportunities to produce films in a creative atmosphere as part of the world-renowned Department of Media and Communications. Students will be part of the Department’s diverse, vibrant community, and be part of media debates and discussions of current issues.
Students and graduates from these programmes go on to work in every area of the film and television industry and are respected around the world. Studying MA Filmmaking at Goldsmiths will teach you to collaborate, push boundaries, and think critically and creatively about filmmaking.
In addition to MA Filmmaking, the Screen School also offers:
- MA in Script Writing
- MA in Television Journalism (with the School of Journalism)
- MA in Film & Screen Studies (a Critical Theory and Practice MA)
- MA in Photography: The Image & Electronic Arts
