Where and what you can study

Opportunities for studying abroad as part of your degree depend on which department you are in.

Primary page content

Study periods are usually a single term. Successful applicants will receive funding to support them during their time abroad. Most of our partners offer courses taught in English. We also have some funding available for students to go on shorter study courses during the holidays.

Partner universities by department

We have study agreements with the following higher education institutions across the world for the 2021-22 academic year. For the majority of placements at these partners. students will receive funding from the European Union as part of the Erasmus+ programme to support their exchange. Please note partnerships are updated on a yearly basis.

We've listed the institutions that our departments have collaborative links within the table below, including an indication of whether they're open to undergraduates, postgraduates, and/or PhD students. You can click on the names in the table to find out more about each institution.

Our study abroad partner destinations are subject to regular review based on the latest Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office travel guidance and students may be advised not to travel to certain locations if there is a perceived safety and security risk.

Placements could be affected by Covid-19. Prior to approving study placements for 2021-22, certain conditions must be met. These are outlined on our risk management page.
