Rose Dagul

Rose is an artist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, collaborator, curator and improvisor. Central to her practice is the visibility of process - she is interested in the pretence of performance, improvisation, imperfections, mistakes, practice and repetition. Solo, she writes and performs songs under the moniker 'Rhosyn', and collaborates with various groups (for various reasons). Rose is the co-founder and coordinator of The Surround - a platform supporting experiments in performance and music, providing a space for unfinished work to be performed in front of an audience; and is a member of / composer for, the Peckham Chamber Orchestra - a non-profit, community orchestra, open to all. She is also a member of Rutger Hauser, and the co-founder of the record label Same Page.

Rose teaches across BMus in Popular Music and MMus in Popular Music and Creative Practice. She is the module convenor for Songwriting and DIY Practice and Alternative Sites for Music, and is a supervisor for Creative Research Project, Creative Performance, Popular Music Project and Creative Project. She also teaches on Folk and Urban Studies, Outsider Sounds and Fringe Aesthetics, Performance New Contexts and Popular Music Composition.
