As a guitarist and performer, Joe has toured and recorded with Mercury Prize-nominated artists Jessie Ware, Ghostpoet and Eska, as well as Tom Jones, Miguel and Bilal.

Since graduating from Goldsmiths in 2011, Joe has worked as a guitarist and musical director for a variety of artists in a wide range of musical styles. As a performer, he has played live extensively across Europe, North America, Australia and Asia, also appearing on TV programmes such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Late Show with James Corden and Late Night with Seth Meyers, as well as recording Later... with Jools Holland five times with three different acts.

As a recording musician, Joe has worked with artists such as Jessie Ware, Ghostpoet, Eska, Petite Noir, Laura Groves, Shakka and James Smith, in studios including Abbey Road, Real World, Red Bull London, Hackney Road, Shrunken Head, The Pool, No. 1 Baltic Place & Livingston of the Miloco chain. His involvement in the recording of Ghostpoet's 2015 Mercury Prize-nominated album Shedding Skin led to an additional production credit, and more recently he has engineered vocals and contributed guitar to Fabiana Palladino's single Shimmer, released in 2018 by the Paul Institute, as well as playing the guitar on Fabiana's newest single Waiting.
 
Joe is module convenor of the Practical Popular Music Studies and Performance: Ensemble modules, as well as supervising students taking Creative Research Project, Creative Performance and Popular Music Project, and teaching across the BMus Popular Music degree on Song Form & Practice and Performance: New Contexts.

As a trade union activist, Joe is one of Music's two Goldsmiths UCU departmental reps.
