Leaving accommodation early and ending your contract
The process around leaving your Goldsmiths managed accommodation early if you’re in Loring Hall, Chesterman House, Ewen Henderson Court, Quantum Court, Raymont Hall, Surrey House or Town Hall Camberwell.

If you are thinking of leaving student accommodation, then the first thing you need to do is fill out a Withdraw from accommodation form (PDF) on our portal. Please carefully read through the document on this page as it contains information on the withdrawal from accommodation process and terms that would need to fulfilled.
If your course moves to online delivery, the accommodation contract is not affected and you will still be expected to pay for your accommodation.
From your contract start date, irrespective of whether you have collected your keys or not, you will be held liable to the accommodation agreement, which means that rent would be charged up until the point of being replaced or the end of the accommodation agreement (whichever is earlier). Please refer to the relevant Accommodation Agreement.
Accommodation Services will help assist you in seeking a replacement provided there is a valid waiting list of students. However, we reserve the right to fill any vacancies we may have within halls, before assisting you in finding an alternative replacement and you will remain responsible for the agreement until a successful replacement is found.
If another student replaces you, you will be charged up until the date the replacement student collects the keys and moves into the room, at which point any overpaid accommodation fees will be returned to you.
From your contract start date, irrespective of whether you have collected your keys or not, you will be held liable to the accommodation agreement. If you decide to check out as you are withdrawing from Goldsmiths, you will be held liable to the accommodation agreement until the keys have been returned, the room has been vacated, and the Accommodation Services has received confirmation of the course withdrawal, whichever is the later date.
At this point, any overpaid accommodation fees will be returned to you.
