Articulation programme between UPES and Goldsmiths: BA (Hons) Journalism
The Department of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies (MCCS) at Goldsmiths is collaborating with UPES to deliver an articulation programme for those interested in exploring study in different contexts internationally.
You will complete two years of study and UPES before completing your third and fourth year Goldsmiths on the BA Journalism programme.

- You’ll learn to produce and present for television, radio, and podcasting with new broadcast journalism modules
- You’ll develop critical thinking and analytical skills applicable to careers in marketing, PR, book publishing, press and campaigning for charities and NGOs, and political communication

Students who are studying BA in Journalism and Mass Communication (Digital) at UPES can apply to study on the BA Journalism programme at Goldsmiths.
You will complete two years at UPES before joining Goldsmiths on the second year of the BA Journalism programme.

Teaching style
This programme is taught through scheduled learning – for example, through a mixture of lectures, seminars and workshops. You’ll also be expected to undertake a significant amount of independent study. This includes carrying out required and additional reading, preparing topics for discussion, and producing essays or project work.
How you'll be assessed
You’ll be assessed by a variety of methods, depending on your module choices. These may include coursework assignments such as extended essays, reports, presentations, practice-based projects or essays/logs, group projects and reflective essays, as well as seen and unseen written examinations.

Entry Requirements
Once you have successfully completed Year 1 and 2 of the BA in Journalism and Mass Communication (Digital) at UPES, you'll be able to enter into Year 2 of the following programmes at Goldsmiths:
To be eligible to enter the two-year programme at Goldsmiths, successful applicants must complete 120 credits at Level 4 or equivalent and attain an average of at least 60% in Years 1 and 2 at UPES.
English language requirements
If English isn’t your first language, you will need an IELTS score (or equivalent English language qualification) of 6.0 overall with a 6.0 in writing and no element lower than 5.5 to study this programme. If you need assistance with your English language, we offer a range of courses that can help prepare you for degree-level study.

Annual tuition fees

Funding opportunities
Goldsmiths offers up to five students per academic year a 20% discount on the standard international programme fees for entry into either the BA Journalism or BA Promotional Media programmes. The last academic year in which these discounted fees apply is the academic year commencing September 2028. You do not need to apply for the discount.
If more than five students from UPES apply to the BA Journalism or BA Promotional Media programme at Goldsmiths, the following criteria will be applied to rank candidates:

Graduates of the degree can also pursue career opportunities in a wide range of other areas, such as:
- As a specialist journalist, using data visualisation and mapping to tell stories about key issues like crime, politics or the environment
- As a reporter, live blogging a football match for a sports website or a catwalk for a fashion magazine
- As a website reporter or editor, assembling multi-media stories or ‘live’ reporting, and using social media to interact with readers and viewers
- As a broadcast journalist, producing and presenting for television or radio/podcasts
- The skills you learn on our BA Journalism programme will also equip you to work in a range of sectors, including marketing and PR, publishing, charities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and local and central government
