Mr. Kevin Jones

BA Fine Art Painting led to becoming a Starving Artist, falling into Ragged Street Theatre, psychiatric voluntary work and then the Dip Art Therapy Goldsmiths 1986-87. No longer starving, I worked in Art Psychotherapist in NHS long-stay hospitals and community mental health 1987-2002 and completed a Dip Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and MA Psychotherapy and Social Studies 1997-2001. I combined a private psychotherapy practice as a member of the Institute of Psychotherapy and Social Studies, UKCP Registered, 2001- present with being a Lecturer Art Psychotherapy Goldsmiths University of London, 2000 - present. Lead clinician in the first randomised controlled trial of art therapy 1997-2001.

Teaching

Clinical Supervision groups, Art Therapy Large Group, Basic Psychodynamic concepts (cross taught with dance Movement psychotherapy), empirical outcome research into art therapy, large group lectures. Collaborative teaching Institute of Transpersonal psychotherapy Berne Switzerland. Visiting Lecturer MA Art Therapy at Roehampton, Sheffield, University of Hertfordshire, Queen Margaret University Edinburgh.
