Programme overview

On the Goldsmiths and Arcadia London Internship Programme you will combine three Goldsmiths modules with a credit-bearing internship based in London.

How it works

You can choose from hundreds of Goldsmiths modules in the spring semester, offered across our academic departments. You will complete three modules. Each module is generally equivalent to four US credits. All teaching for the modules takes place in the spring semester from January to the end of March/beginning of April, with assessment between April and June.

The internship is seven weeks in length and takes place in the summer semester from April to May after the teaching for the modules ends. Internships are full-time hours, 3-4 days per week, and are worth four US credits. You will complete an accompanying internship seminar, Work in Thought and Action, taught by Arcadia University London Centre. The seminar is designed to maximise your learning from the internship experience, and will connect it to both your course of study and your career aspirations. There are 12 contact hours for the seminar, and you will be required to complete assignments.

The internship has been the highlight of my semester in the UK. I was really worried about meeting Londoners but my internship has really helped me in this as I was able to get involved in the community and get to know what real Londoners are like.

Interning and studying in London

London is a vibrant and diverse city to experience as both a student and a professional. There are a huge variety of organisations you can work for, from start-ups to large corporate agencies. You’ll study and work alongside individuals from different cultures and backgrounds, helping you to develop vital skills such as intercultural awareness and communication. You’ll build a global network, increase your employability, and have a unique and exciting experience abroad that will shape your future.

London is a great city with an endless list of things to do and to see! In this busy city, I noticed that Goldsmiths offers something that can be very valuable, which is the feeling of community and inspiration that you get when you walk around the campus.
